Hilaire Burton was born and brought up in a family with five children, where she is the oldest of four siblings. Ever since her childhood she had a passion for acting and knew that she would pursue a career in acting. Burton graduated from Park View High School (Loudoun County, Virginia), and then went on to attended New York University and Fordham University, which was also a gateway for her career in acting.

 

Burton started her acting career with MTV, where she worked as a VJ for the show ‘Total Request Live.’ Though she was there for the show for guest commentator but the directors liked her so much that they decided to make her permanent. After that she got a small part in the series ‘Dawson’s Creek’, where she also met her future husband on the sets, for the first time. But Burton is most famous for her role of Peyton on ‘One Tree Hill’. In the series she plays a daughter to Ellie and her boyfriend Mick Wolf. But soon afterwards she is adopted by Larry and Anna Sawyer and is living with them. In the series she is famous as a cheerleader and also has a passion for music. She also runs a band by the name TRIC in the series.

 

 

Apart from her television career, she has worked in movies like ‘Our Very Own’, ‘The List’ and ‘The Secret Life of Bees’. She has also been nominated for the ‘Teen Choice Award’, for the series ‘One Tree Hill’. Her next upcoming project is ‘The Sacrifice’.

 

Coming to her personal life, she is married to Ian Prange, since 2004. The actress met Ina on the sets of ‘Dawson’s Creek’, where he worked behind cameras. Burton started dating Ian when she met him on the sets of ‘One Tree Hill’, where he works as the assistant director of One Tree Hill. Currently the actress is staying at Wilmington, North Carolina. Besides acting Burton has a passion for collecting antiques. In her free time she likes to do knitting and crocheting.
