Season one of the series was premiered on September 23, 2003. The first season of the series had twenty two episodes in it. The series opens with an introduction to main characters; Nathan, who is already famous in the town because he is the star of the high school basketball team. On the other hand we have Lucas, who is a simple guy brought up by single working mother. Nathan and Lucas are quite different from each other, except for the fact that they share the same father. Now the two half brothers will have to compete with each other as Lucas is put on Nathan’s team. Besides competing with each other playing for the basketball team, they also compete with each other when Lucas too, falls in love with Peyton, Nathan’s girlfriend. In the next episode, Lucas plays for the team for the first time and completely messes it up and decides to quit. The Scott brothers fight with each other over their relationship with Peyton.
