The fourth season of the series was premiered on September 27, 2006. The fourth season had twenty one episodes in it. The fourth season opens with everyone recovering from a shocking accident that took place in the last season. Though, Nathan and Rachel are in a better condition, but Cooper still is in coma. Lucas and Peyton’s relationship grows even stronger. On the other hand, Brooke and Rachel too decide to removes their differences and become friends with each other. Meanwhile, Brooke must decide about her relationship with Lucas. In the next episode, it’s Brooke’s eighteenth birthday but soon realizes that she has no one but Rachel to celebrate it with.

Nathan still can’t get out of his memories of the accident. In the next episode, Peyton comes to know about her new brother, Derek and spends time with him. Rachel tries to start a romantic relationship with Nathan and on the other hand Lucas loses out on all the hope that he had about starting a relationship with Brooke.
