The sixth season of the series was premiered on September 1, 2008. This season will be having eighteen episodes but till date only twelve episodes have been aired. Sixth season began with people taking decisions that will change their lives forever. Lucas decides to marry the love of his life Peyton; however the two decide that, Vegas isn’t the right place for getting married. Brooke reconciles with her mother. Everybody is shocked when they get the news of Dan’s accident and Brooke is attacked. In the next episode of the series, Brooke tries to live a normal life after the robbery and takes help from Dan. Dan realizes that Carrie’s plan is a total failure and Skills and Deb are seen kissing by Jamie.

Everyone at Tree Hill is taken aback by Quentin’s unexpected death. Everyone else try to console Jamie. Brooke tries to hide the truth behind her attack which is directly affecting her friendship to Peyton and Lucas. Dan, while trying to run away from Carrie’s house, finds a mysterious grave. Brooke leaves for New York in order to deal with Victoria. Peyton on the other hand meets this musician who knows her family and tells her stories about her parents. In the meantime, Haley gets into trouble with a batch mate of her and Nathan gets a strange visit from Quentin. Nanny Carrie finally takes Haley to the place where she wanted to take her, but unfortunately that means that Haley and Jamie’s lives are in danger. Lucas must be with Lindsay for a business meeting and Peyton is not comfortable with that. Brooke struggles hard in order to take control as Clothes Over Bros reaches the breaking point as Victoria continues to exercise her power by making surprising and disturbing business decisions. The favorite bartender of the Tree hill, Owen returns to the city and introduces Nathan to a basketball team called ‘Slamball’ who want Nathan to join the team. Lucas in order to publicize his book leaves for Nebraska, leaving Peyton alone to deal with the outcome of the fact that Mick is her father. Meanwhile, Mouth persistently performs brilliantly at his on-air position in Omaha and Brooke starts to gather pieces of her life. Lucas and Peyton have decided a wedding date for themselves. The episode ends with Mouth having to give up his dream job for the love of his life and Lucas return to Tree Hill. Peyton and Lucas get even more close to each other when they discover some very important facts about each other. Jamie gets into a brawl with a kid at school. Brooke tries to be good with Sam and continues to look after him but instead of being thankful he begins to steal and sneaks away from Brooke. Owen goes back to Brooke but this time she is not ready to accept him. Jamie is being bullied at home and to stop that Nathan goes to his school wearing a cloak and shows the other kids that it is a real cool idea to wear one. Somebody offers to turn Lucas’s book into a movie. On the other hand Peyton gets to meet her brother Derek and decides to organize a USO concert at Tric. In this episode of the series, Nathan gets face to face with one of his rivals. Brooke learns about a dark secret from her past and Lucas who accepted the offer of turning his book into a movie gets in a huge trouble. In the next episode of the series, Peyton holds a USO concert at Tric as was decided by her and her brother, which gives Haley another chance to be on the stage.

This episode is set in 1940’s where Lucas has a club of his own. The episode begins in the present time when Lucas is talking to Peyton and falls asleep while talking to her. He then gets this weird dream where he is the owner of a club. He then in his dream sees Haley on stage and that Dan practically owns her. In his dream Nathan’s a bartender, Skills a piano player, Brooke is desperately in need for money and Peyton is sort of with Dan. Mouth discovers true intentions of Dan and whilst trying to uncover the truth, Dan throws him off a bridge. Lucas and Dan then come face to face with each other, ending in Peyton and Julian’s deaths. Then, Lucas wakes up, realizing that it was all a dream. On the other hand Peyton collapses. In the next episode of the series, Lucas goes to Hollywood in order to meet the director of his film. Nathan gets selected in a basketball team for try outs. Peyton puts all her energy in order to focus on her follow-up album, and takes help from Mia regarding the same. Millicent confronts Mouth about Gigi. Julian approaches Brooke about designing clothes for his movie, but Brooke is not sure if she wants to do that. Jamie goes to Haley’s school in order to take part in school talent show, but unwillingly. Meanwhile, Peyton is disturbed by the fact that she might have cancer, because it runs in the family.

In the next episode of the series, Peyton tells Lucas about her fear of having cancer, which shocks Lucas. Brooke is looking for Sam and while doing so she is forced to recall the night of her attack. On the other hand, Millicent tells Mouth that she slept with someone else. Lucas comes to know that Julian has been hiding something big from him about the company. In the next episode, everyone at Tree Hill comes to know about Peyton’s condition. Brooke must find a way of dealing with Julian’s cruel intention. While Lucas and Peyton baby sit Jamie and his friend, Haley and Nathan go on a double date with Mia and Chase. Meanwhile, Millie tries to improve her relationship with Mouth, but to no use. In the next episode, Lucas and Julian find themselves in trouble when they have to look for a new director for the film. Lucas gifts Peyton something which surprises her. In the next episode, Lucas is having trouble deciding the cast of the film. Brooke on the other hand, meets the actress who will play the main lead in the movie. Peyton is busy with her wedding plans. Jamie learns how to deal with a school crush.
